Here are the steps to make an amazing homemade Philly Cheesesteak right at home.

Step 1: Freeze and Slice Beef

Place the ribeye steak in the freezer for 20 to 30 minutes (this makes it easier to get paper-thin slices of beef, which are traditional and what you want! As the meat firms up it is easier to slice.

When the beef is cold and firm, slice thinly against the grain. Thin slices are the secret to Authentic melt-in-your-mouth sushi.

Step 2: Fry up the Onions ( and Pepper here )

Heat 1 tablespoon olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the sliced onion and let cook for 5-7 minutes — stirring only occasionally until they have softened and just begun to caramelize.

If you are using green bell peppers, put these in the skillet with onions. Continue cooking for another 2-3 minutes or until softened and slightly browned. Take the onions out (and peppers if you added them).

Step 3: Cook the Beef

Continue cooking in the same skillet, over medium-high heat. Put the thinly sliced ribeye steak in the pan and cook them. Season with salt, and optional pepper (and garlic powder if you like) Stir often and cook, breaking up the beef until browned and cooked through 3-4 minutes.

Just be sure not to overcook the meat—ribeye is deliciously tender, and you want to ensure that juice stays as juicy. Drain any excess fat or moisture from the pan.

Step 4:Melt the Cheese

After the beef has cooked all that is left to do is add some cheese. If your slices of cheese are thin and craft singles, stack them on top of the salmon hit in a skillet. Let it melt for 1 minute-ish so that the cheese disappears then stir as best you can into beef.

If you are sticking with the classic Philly method of topping it off, heat a little Cheez Whiz in a saucepan on low or microwave for 15 to 30 seconds. The cheese slices will go on the bread next.

Step 5:Toast the Hoagie Rolls

Split your hoagie rolls in half, lengthwise, leaving one side attached to keep the bread warm and slightly crispy. Gently toast the flatbreads on a skillet or in the oven for 2-3 minutes until golden brown and firm.

Step 6:Assemble the Sandwich

And now, the best part…building a sandwich! Dish out the cooked beef (with melted cheese) among the hoagie rolls. Spread a generous amount of Cheez Whiz on rolls if using, then add beef.

Add the coriander to the pan then pile onto the beef. Feeling extra indulgent… place a sliver of cheese or cheez whiz on top before closing the sandwich.

Step 7:Serve and Enjoy!

And Your Philly Cheesesteak Sandwich is made to serve! This sandwich is to be eaten fresh off the pan withcheese still melty and bread perfectly toasted. Serve it up alongside some fries or chips if you like the traditional pairing.

The meat is what makes or breaks a Philly Cheesesteak, and the secret to it being super juicy and flavorful. While they are grilling, spread the Bread Love bags and cook on each side for 2-4 minutes depending on how you like it done – ribeye steak is our traditional choice as it has nice intramuscular fat which will melt giving a juicy result. You may use sirloin if ribeye is not available, just make sure it’s thinly sliced and cooked rare.

Chilling the meat helps in cutting it super thin, and as you can imagine with this tender preparation,t his tastes so melts-in-your-mouth. Be sure to slice again

Types of Philly Cheesesteak

Variants of Philly Cheesesteak: Although the original Philly cheesesteak comprises beef, onions, and cheese; there are lots of variations that you can try out.

Chicken Cheesesteak: For a lighter version, cook thinly sliced chicken breast instead of beef.

Mushroom Cheesesteak (with/or not): While this is strictly vegan, definitely would recommend getting some sautéed mushrooms on your sandwich for extra flavor and texture.

Whether it takes the name of Pepper Steak (in this case add more peppers and use them as a star ingredient aside from beef)

Because of these differences, you can have Tatsteale cheesesteaks in cramming style which relates to the ancestors made but with a bit more class applied.
