Ingredients:
Philly Cheesesteak Filling:
1 lb thinly sliced steak (may use ribeye.. but sirloin can do the trick)
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 small onion, thinly sliced
1 green bell pepper, cut thinly
Mushrooms, 1/2 cup sliced (optional)
Salt and pepper to taste
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
Four slices of Provolone cheese (or any kind)
For the Lettuce Wraps:
1 head iceberg or romaine lettuce, leaves separated and cleaned
Toppings (optional):
Pickled Jalapenos, or Sliced Banana Peppers
Hot sauce
Instructions:
How to Make the Cheesesteak Filling
Directions:Place a large skillet over medium-high heat with olive oil. Return the onions, bell peppers, and mushrooms (if using) to the skillet and cook until they are softened sand lightly caramelized. 5-7 mins
Salt and pepper the veggies, then push them to one side of the skillet.
Cook the Steak
Place the sliced steak on another side of the skillet. Salt, pepper, and garlic powder on ach side then cook it over the stovetop for 2-3 minutes per side.
Combine it with the sautéed vegetables then place even piles of mix onto wraps you are making.
Add Cheese
Top each pile of steak and vegetables with a slice of provolone cheese. Putting a cover over the skillet for just 2 minutes will allow that cheese to melt and ooze all up in there, sealing together your egg-veggie-cheesy breakfast burrito.
Assemble the Lettuce Wraps
Place a single layer of lettuce leaves on a clean surface or plate. Scoop the cheesesteak filling into each lettuce leaf, dividing evenly.
For a little tang and kick, add sliced banana peppers or pickled jalapeños (sliced too).
Serve and Enjoy
Enjoy as is with hot sauce or a squeeze of fresh lime right before serving for zing.
I would recommend eating these wraps right after you make them, so that way the lettuce stays super fresh and not soggy!

How to Make the Perfect Philly Cheesesteak Lettuce Wraps:
Thinly-sliced ribeye steak (for the most authentic Philly flavor & texture) OR, go for less expensive sirloin or even ground beef
Choice of Lettuce: I used iceberg lettuce because it is sturdy enough to hold the filling and keep each wrap extra crispy.
Mushroom: Sliced mushrooms give the filling a more woodsy touch that goes well with flavors from cheesesteak. Even if you opt not to use them, it is recommended.
